PURPLE TURNIP

Always wanted to start a vegetable or turnip patch, Purple Top Turnip is an heirloom

 variety that has been the preferred variety for of market farmers and

 backyard gardeners for over 100 years. Roots are white with purple crowns that will be 

exposed above ground as plants mature. A great dual purpose vegetable.

Turnips are very fast growing. Crops within just a few weeks!

 May be used fresh, roasted, grilled or cooked. Goes well in salads, sauces, roasted with

 other vegetables or in spreads and dips. The white flesh is tender and has the

 characteristic spicy flavor  synonymous with raw turnips. Raw turnip roots make a 

flavorful addition to any salad and plants lants produce large, lobed greens that

 are excellent sautéed or boiled.

CUISINE

Turnip is such a versatile vegetable it can be used in just about any dish

 imaginable. From soups to stews, stir-fries and salads and garnishes, the combinations

 are endless.

WHAT WILL I RECEIVE

You will receive 100 fresh seeds. Sow in drills 1cm deep and 15cm apart from early to

 late spring if you want your crop to mature by late summer. 

 When the seedlings have developed, thin to one single, strong plant.
