This listing is for a ready-to-install immersion waxed Shimano Ultegra 11-speed chain (includes a quick-link connector). If you are not familiar with waxed chains versus conventional lubes, there's extensive information published by Zero Friction Cycling online that does exhaustive testing on chain life and more importantly the wear and tear on the much more expensive drive train (cassette, chainrings).

Other than the massively improved lifespan of your drive train, you'll notice immediate benefits using a waxed chain:
Do not confuse this with a basic drip wax application. My immersion wax process starts with a new factory chain, then removes all factory lubricant through a series of ultrasonic baths in acetone and mineral spirits, and is then bathed in Silca Molten Speedwax for 30 minutes. After the wax cools, a very brief "break in" spin loosens the links up, but the chain you receive will feel very stiff when initially installing. This goes away within about 5 miles of typical riding. At this point the chain will not need any additional lubrication or treatment for at least 500-750 miles, a bit less if exposed to heavy water. Once the wax has worn, you can extend the life using a drip WAX (not oil) such as Silca's or Ceramic Speed's products (or become a true convert and buy a small crock pot and start dipping your own).
