Elevate your office and desk organization with this high-quality letter tray set. Crafted from durable faux blue leather and soft felt lining, this 3-tier tray is perfect for holding all of your important documents and paperwork. The side-loading design ensures that your papers stay secure and in place, while the stackable feature allows you to easily expand your storage capacity. Most importantly, it look great, with a professional, elegant design that will never go out of style.

The faux leather exterior is in excellent shape with no rips or heavy wear. The felt-lined interior has developed a sort of soft gray “patina” (to loosely use that term) . Each tray is sized 13" wide, 9" deep and 4" tall.

I purchased these about 5 years ago from Staples. They cost about $30 each ($90 total). Staples does not sell this particular letter tray anymore, which is unfortunate since it has served me well. The only reason I’m selling them is because I wanted to color coordinate my desk and went with a different palette.

Why did I advertise this listing with “GTD” and “David Allen”?

After adopting the GTD methodology, I was on the lookout for exactly the style of desk tray (or letter tray, or inbox, etc.) that David Allen uses in his home office. It turns out that the one he prefers is 3-tiered (three trays stacked on top of each other), side-loading (as opposed to more traditional front-loading), and leather-bound. The problem was that David’s was made in Italy and cost over $400! They used to sell them on GTD’s web-shop, but have been sold out for a few years (with no indication that they’ll ever restock).

So I sought to build the next best thing: I purchased 3 faux leather side-loading desk trays from Staples and stacked them together. It’s been indispensable for keeping my desk organized. I keep incoming paperwork / bills on one tray, receipts / handwritten notes / dated ephemera on another, and books / magazines / physical objects that need my attention on another. For the GTD “enthusiast”, or anyone with an office desk, this type of organization is essential. Your weekly review will never be the same!
