This is a very nice British Boer War Souvenir Broach that is in excellent condition. It is jeweler constructed of two South African coins mounted in a beautifully detailed silver laurel leaf wreath with a bow at the eight o’clock position. The central part of the broach is made up of a small silver coin mounted in the center of a larger copper penny. The penny is marked and dated, 'ZUID AFRIKA REPUBLIK - 1 PENNY 1898'. The smaller silver coin has a bust of Paul Kruger and is undated. The reverse of the penny is also with a bust of Paul Kruger and with a high quality hinged pin and open catch fastened to the reverse of the wreath. The overall diameter of the broach is 1⅜ inches. It remains a beautiful example of a Boer War souvenir in excellent, undamaged condition.
