As most Lexus SC owners can relate, the vent bezels' plastics tend to become brittle and crack. With new parts nearly impossible to find, I wanted a solution that would last. I set about modeling the vent bezels and making improvements to overcome many of the original design's shortcomings. I believe I have a high-quality solution for those of us who no longer want to deal with cracked vent bezels and drooping vents. The passenger bezel also typically suffers from the same fate. Check out my eBay store for a matching passenger's side bezel!

What is it:

A repair kit to fix the cracked vent bezel and floppy vents typical on the Lexus SC300 and SC400. This will fit the 1993-1996 models only. These are produced using FDM (3D Printing) utilizing a more UV stable ASA plastic than the stock ABS. The bezel has a slightly textured finish (as pictured), which better mimics the factory unit and reduces layer line appearance typical with printed components. Those desiring a perfect factory matched finish may lightly sand and paint the new bezel before installing.

What you'll receive:
  • The vent bezel (wood trim, vents, and vent housing will be reused and are not included)
  • Vent repair bushings (used to address vents that are loose or no longer hold their position)
Design Notes and Improvements:
  • Thickening of the face plastics to 3 mm.
  • Thickening of the snaps that hold the vent housing assembly
  • Added bracing at the airflow control dial to reduce stress on the face and brace the upper and lower alignment screw mounts.
  • Slight lengthening of the screw slots to allow for more movement under thermal expansion and contraction
  • Printed using PolyLite ASA, which is offers excellent UV performance and durability
Important notes:
  • Installation requires the removal of the passenger side airbag. Airbag removal should only be done by an individual trained in the safe handling of vehicle airbags.
  • This can be a complicated installation. A link to repair instructions is available upon request or when completing a purchase. Vehicle disassembly isn't covered in the repair instructions.
  • Due to the hand-made nature and age of the wood trim in these vehicles, it is possible that minor filing or adjustment may be required to achieve good fitment.
  • End-user damaged or modified bezels aren't returnable.
