This is a Lenz 22103 LV103 Power Amplifier 5A Output Current. 

This amplifier was designed to meet the safety requirements for O, HO, and N gauge model railroad sets. Track voltage is 11 to 22V. Maximum load capacity up to 5A. Overload results in a temporary safety shut-off of the amplifier.

This unit requires a suitable power supply unit, such as the The TR150. The LV103 supports RailCom operation.

Technical specifications:

• Power supply (Input voltage) with AC voltage: min. 14 volts, max. 19 volts with pure DC voltage: min: 14 volts, max. 24 volts.

• It makes sense to choose an input voltage that is about 2 V higher for DC voltage supply, or approximately the same size or slightly less than the set output voltage (voltage on the track) for AC voltage supply. This avoids unnecessary heat loss in the device, which can lead to premature thermal shutdown.

• The voltage on the track is adjustable between 11 V and 22 V in steps of 0.5 V. Depending on the transformer used, this voltage may be lower under load. An output voltage of 16 V is set at the factory.

• Depending on the transformer used, its voltage and the set track voltage, the continuous current that the amplifier of the LZV200 can deliver differs. Example: With transformer TR150 and setting the track voltage to 16 V, the continuous current is 4.3 A.

• The overcurrent switch-off takes place after approx. 200 ms with permanent overcurrent (e.g. short circuit).

• The LV103 is equipped with a global RailCom detector. This detector receives data that are sent by decoders in channel 2 of the RailCom packets. This data is forwarded to the LZV200 control center via the C, D, E lines.
