6 ¾ by 4 3/8” in brown leather over board, with ribbed spine face and gilded title in dark red label near the top, pale red page block, 495 pages, various sized text in high Gothic German, with decorative engravings as sectional headers. The title roughly translates: Complete Exegesis of the Holy Gospel, made especially according to literal meanings, primarily from the first 12 chapters of (the Gospel of) Saint John.
It is an antique book of Gospel commentaries, condition graded Very Good.. There is a bit of cover wear, bumped corners on upper front and back covers, an 1854 personal inscription in fine ink script near top of inside cover; all the pages are fresh, mostly clean and unmarked, binding is sound, and quite well preserved for this collectible, almost 250 year old book.
