1965 Press Photo LA Dodgers Catcher Johnny Roseboro Injury from Marichal Bat

PHOTO DESCRIPTION: Johnny Roseboro, the Los Angeles catcher, gestures toward the patch on his head today in his NewYork hotel room and tells newsmen how he was the target of a baseball bat in the hands of San Francisco Giants’ pitcher Juan Marichal, during their game at Candlestick Park Sunday. Marichal had brushed back two Dodger hitters. When he came to bat in the third inning, Roseboro returned the ball to pitcher Sandy Koufax and Marichal thought the throw to close. The fun began. The Dodgers face the Mets at Shea Stadium tonight.
