This beautiful extra large 16-inch (2 inches in height) hand-painted traditional Japanese is a vintage MCM era piece showcasing the exquisite craftsmanship of Arita porcelain makers and the artisan who painstakingly painted every piece by hand with vibrant enamel before being kiln fired.

The colorful phoenix and flowers design is a symbol of prosperity and longevity in Japanese culture. The platter is made of high-quality porcelain, of which the prefecture of Arita is world famous and features gold gilt detailing, adding a touch of elegance to any home decor. This plate is free from any defect, chips, flaking, or blemishes. The gold building and trim is intact without any wear. The bottom rim features three small holes, meant for accommodating a wire for wall display. Two of these holes are utilized for this purpose and the wire is quite stable.

Gold Imari, is well-known for producing quality porcelain pieces and this platter is no exception. It is a must-have for any collector of Asian antiques and adds a touch of history to any collection.

Arita-Imari plates of this size are very hard to find, especially in perfect condition. It would a shame to let this impressive piece pass you by.

Please refer to the photos as they are part of the description. There is some old, hardened adhesive (glue?) where it seems a label was once attached. I’ll continue to work on removing it, although it in no way detracts from the piece.
