Oil painted LARGE black batea (wood bowl) nicho retablo with framed image of the Virgen de Guadalupe.
Vibrant colors and studded with dozens of Milagros (Mexican charms.)

Outer edges are studded with Milagros, inner edge surrounding the Lady of Guadalupe has gold scroll type painting.

Crafted by hand in Michoacán, Mexico and signed by the artist.


Measurements: 12" tall x 8" across x 1.75" deep. Hook on the back for hanging.

Milagros are small metal religious charms. The word milagro means “miracle”. These small charms were typically attached to crosses or wooden statues of various saints like the Virgin Mary or Christ. They are physical manifestations of the wishes, prayers and thanks of the heart.
