These vintage Picture Post magazines are a wonderful resource of news and contemporary thought - giving insight to the news, politics and current affairs of the world. There are articles and lots of pictures, and these 1940s issues are particularly interesting! And the advertisements are great, too.

In this issue:
  • Cover: Grand National Horses in Training
  • The Marshall Plan’s First Victory by William D Clarke - Arthur Vandenberg, George Marshall
  • A Blockade Runner Assumes Innocence - Palestine
  • Wilhelm Furtwängler, Conductor
  • Carnival Lady
  • Wild Rock Gardens
  • Weapons for One Only - Fencer - Helena Mroczowska Dow
  • What it means to be a Steeplechase Jockey by James Snow - Jack Fawcus, Raymond Cane
  • Saloon into Tourer - Sheila Sim - J.R.V. Dolphin - John Dolphin - The Guinea Pig
  • The Case for Guatemala

The magazine is large format, measuring appoximately 34cm by 26cm, with 32 pages

Condition: The magazine is in good vintage condition, showing reading wear and some creasing to the covers, plus the staples have rusted, making the pages loose and some staining damage around the staples, there is a newsagents delivery name written on the front cover - visible in the pictures below. Given that the magazine is over 75 years old, its condition is pretty good, but certainly not perfect! The magazine pictured below is the one you will receive.

I accept returns, and if you’d like any further information, just ask!
