Once in a life time chance to a true one of a kind - official Hartlepool United FC blazer worne by Pools Legend, Kenny Johnson from the mid 1950.

 A true one of a kind item. 

In his long career for Pools, from 1949 to 1964, Kenny played 413 games and scored 106 goals.

The blazer was purchased directly from Kenny along with photographs, players contract, Etc. 

Kenny grew up on Glebe Farm in Seaton Carew which is where Seaton Park is now.

He played in the Church League as a boy for Seaton Holy Trinity - a much-respected team - and “this is where his football talents were spotted,” He went away for his National Service in the Army and was posted to Hong Kong.

Johnson played a part in Pools' remarkable run in 1954-5 season when they went on an unbeaten 20-match run in league and cup, including playing neighbours Darlington five times in three weeks, winning three and drawing two.

Johnson scored in the FA Cup game against Manchester United in 1957, in front of a record crowd of 17,426 at the Victoria Ground.

He was struggling with an ankle injury but got on the scoresheet against the Busby Babes, in a 4-3 defeat which Matt Busby described as “the most exciting match I've ever watched.”

As a private collect of football memorabilia for over five decades, l have one of the largest collections of Hartlepool United items. 

Most items have been collected in person over the years or from reliable contacts within the club.
