Unusual Momento Mori Sculpture of a 3-D hand-carved wooden skull mounted in an old clock case. A beautiful sculpture that reminds us that our time is precious. The mend on the leg suggests that when time ran out for this clock, a second life began, probably because the clock broke. Speaking of Baroque, look at all the beautiful details in the casting, which frames the carved skull just beautifully. I've enjoyed this for decades, and the condition is really beautiful as shown in the pics. See close-up of old, solid repair on leg, otherwise excellent condition. A label on the back translates to "So the darkness begins". Sure to bring you good luck. Measures approx. 10" tall.
