These vintage Picture Post magazines are a wonderful resource of news and contemporary thought - giving insight to the news, politics and current affairs of the world. There are articles and lots of pictures, and these 1950s issues are particularly interesting! And the advertisements are great, too.
In this issue:
- Montgomery Today: A Special Interview by General Sir Brian Horrocks - Field Marshal Montgomery
- Wales Breaks into Opera - Welsh National Opera - Phyllis Ash-Child, Barbara Jenkins, Edward Renton
- Will Democracy Survive in France?
- Montmartre Comes to Piccadilly - Pigalle
- Hollywood (6): The Best and Worst - Hedda Hopper, Charlie Chaplin
- Beware Springboks - Hugh Tayfield, Dudley Nourse, Cuan McCarthy
- Happy Family of Painters - Dietz Edzard, Suzanne Eisendieck
- My Night Out from the Stable
- How to Change an Old Clown - Trudi Black [Whimsical Walker]
The magazine is large format, measuring appoximately 34cm by 26cm, with 52 pages
Condition: The magazine is in good vintage condition, showing reading wear and some creasing to the covers, plus the staples have rusted, making the pages loose and some staining damage around the staples, there is a newsagent’s delivery name written on the front cover - visible in the pictures below. Given that the magazine is over 70 years old, its condition is pretty good, but certainly not perfect! The magazine pictured below is the one you will receive.
I accept returns, and if you’d like any further information, just ask!
