This Repair Kit is directed to people with basic knowledge in electronics.

M-tronicz TV Repair is offering this repair kit for a common failure in TCD648250B  Power Supply Boards:

No Video Output
NO Lights on the Front
Orange/Black screen
"Welcome Powering Up"
Rebooting between this and the "Almost There" screen

In many TiVo models, when a power supply goes bad, one or more capacitors show signs of failure.
A failed capacitor will bulge at the top and might have discoloration there as well.
If you have burst capacitors, you certainly have a bad power supply.
If your capacitors look fine, you could still have a bad power supply.
The only way to know at that point is to swap out the capacitor with a known good one
and see if the problem is fixed.

Note about this kit:
The voltage rating on some of these caps is at a higher rating, the capacitance of the capacitor should be a constant known value.

DOING YOUR OWN REPAIR WORK: The removal and replacement/installation of electronic components
at the circuit board level is NOT recommended if you are not experienced with electronic
component and circuit board repair. If you are new to this stuff, please take our advice
and leave the work to a qualified expert- you will most likely thank yourself later.
It is VERY easy to cause damage to electrical parts and circuit boards
if repairs are not done with precision, neatness, and accuracy. It is very easy for
one to make problems WORSE than they were before, if one does not know what one is doing,
or does not have adequate experience with these kinds of parts and this kind of work in general.
