They have arrived and yet are still on the run. They are singers, musicians, rappers and yet excluded and deported. With their music they bring thousands of people together and yet they themselves are not allowed to enter the nearest district. Nuri (Dagestan), Jaques (Ivory Coast), Hosain (Afghanistan) and Revelino (Ivory Coast) have left their country in search of a new home. Interned in refugee camps and condemned to stand still, they live a shocking everyday life as refugees. But there is Heinz Ratz. He has visited 80 asylum seeker homes in Germany and found world-class musicians there. His combo "Strom & Wasser" was unceremoniously expanded to include a "feat. The Refugees" and thrilled a huge audience on a major tour of Germany. Director Julia Oelkers accompanies Heinz Ratz and the Refugees as they attempt to break free from their prescribed places - through the gesture, as simple as it is powerful, of raising their own voices.
