Description: Unbound. Engraved portrait. 9" x 12 3/4". Engraving probably by Charles Grignion. Wear and small closed tears along the edges, else near fine. Leland was a poet and antiquary who was continually writing and is known for the verses he prepared for the pageants celebrating the royal entry of Anne Boleyn into London. He traveled frequently throughout England and the continent, using his experiences for his poetry and for gathering rare and valuable books and manuscripts.
