Leo is the
astrological sign of the lion, one of the twelve signs of the
classical or
Roman zodiac. This sign originated with the constellation Leo
and is the fifth sign of the zodiac. The mintage limit of each of
the Roman Zodiac Privy Mark Silver
Maple Leafs was only 5,000—the second lowest ever for any SML!
The Constellation Leo
Nemea.
King Eurystheus set Hercules on the task of bringing him the skin of
this lion, so that he could have a coat that would make him
invulnerable, like a Greek version of a flak jacket! Hercules found the
beast, and soon discovered that his arrows were useless against its
impenetrable skin. Using his powers of logic, Hercules realized that he
would have to find another way to kill the beast - by grasping it in
his mighty arms and suffering its claws while tightly choking it to
death. As a tribute to Zeus, Leo was raised to the heavens as the
constellation Leo.
The Sign of Leo
As
a sign of the zodiac, Leo
is considered a positive, or masculine sign. It is a fire sign, and it
is also one of the four fixed signs.
Traditionally, in astrology, Leo is
ruled by the Sun, and its opposite sign is Aquarius. Leo's period, when
it is occupied by the Sun, runs
from July 23 to August 22, and the Fifth
House is the house associated with Leo.
In astrology the
astrological signs of the twelve houses equal segments
or divisions of the zodiac. According to astrological beliefs,
celestial phenomena reflect or govern human activity on the principle
of "as above, so below",
so that the twelve signs at the same time are
held to represent twelve basic personality types or characteristic
modes of expression.
Those born under the sign of Leo are said to be creative, passionate,
loyal, noble, powerful, generous, independent and affectionate,
although
they can also be jealous, bossy, or melodramatic.
Investment Note
With a total mintage of only 5,000 each, these Roman Zodiac Privy Mark

simply not
enough to go around!

The Royal Canadian Mint refines the purest silver in the world. Since
their introduction, the Canadian Maple Leaf coins have been regarded
as among the finest silver coins in the world, owing in large part to
their
superb purity. This
one troy ounce silver coin is 99.99% pure (.9999 fine silver)!
