Ex-library copy with spine label, bookplate, pocket, and perforated stamp on the letterpress title page and first text page. The binding is rubbed and scuffed, else good. This edition of the Regulations is a revision of the 1841 edition, issued because the 1841 edition was exhausted (due to increased demand occasioned by the Mexican-American war). The regulations govern all aspects of army life, arranged under 57 Articles. Also included is a 24-page appendix (that reprints 101 Articles of War), and an engraved plate depicting the Order of Encampment for a Regiment of Infantry, and for two squadrons of Cavalry.
