What Is Shiny Car Stuff?
Shiny Car Stuff is essentially a high gloss, self-leveling clear coat that is hand-applied to your vehicle. It helps improve the appearance of old, damaged, fading clear coat, headlights and trim. It also adds a long-lasting layer of depth along with rust inhibitors and UV protection.
Will This Work for My Vehicle? What Level of Damage Is This For?
Shiny Car Stuff is meant for clear coat damage. It is not meant for base coat damage. This product is ideal for scratches into the clear coat, and faded and sun-damaged clear coat. Shiny Car Stuff is intended for improving the cosmetic appearance of older cars by 60-90%.
How Many Vehicles Can Be Done With 1 Bottle?
We estimate an 8 oz bottle to do approximately 2-4 vehicles on average. Or multiple layers of depth on 1 heavily damaged vehicle.
Can the Coating Get Wet? What If It Rains?
It is important to not let the area get wet for 24 hours after application. If you know that it's going to be raining in the next 24 hours, we recommend keeping your vehicle indoors during the cure time. You are able to hand wash the vehicle 48 hours after application. We recommend you Do Not take the vehicle through an automatic car wash after application. Automatic car washes are known to damage regular clear coat, so they can do the same with a Shiny Car Stuff coating. Our recommendation is to hand wash, power wash or take the vehicle through a touchless car wash.
Can I Apply a 2nd or 3rd Layer of Shiny Car Stuff?
If you would like to apply even more depth or cover additional damage, or imperfections in the application, it often makes sense to apply additional layers of Shiny Car Stuff. Ensure you wait 48 hours after applying the 1st layer. If you have experience doing so, we recommend wet-sanding the first layer with 3000-5000 grit sandpaper. Then simply start back at Step 1 of the directions to clean and then apply the 2nd coat. In some cases it may even make sense to apply additional layers after that.
Is This Like a Ceramic Coating? Can I Use WITH a Ceramic Coating?
Ceramic coatings are generally used to make newer cars easier to clean/prevent dirt from sticking. Shiny Car Stuff is used to add depth and improve the appearance damaged, fading clear coat. We DO NOT recommend using Shiny Car Stuff over top of a ceramic coating. However, you are able to use a ceramic coating over top of a Shiny Car Stuff coating if needed. Just ensure you wait 48 hours after applying Shiny Car Stuff.
How Is This Different Than Other Products?
The key differentiator of Shiny Car Stuff is the self-leveling properties that make it easy to use. Compared to other products it also has higher gloss and can be applied thicker to achieve significant depth. Many competitors require franchise fees and minimum purchase agreements.
