This antique French plate is a testament to the turbulent history of France. The plate depicts a motto of the French Revolution, with rather disastrous results. The motto (Liberte, Egalite, Fraternite) has stuck though, minus the Mort (death) and we can still see it all over France. The plate dates to the beginning of the 19th century and has some signs of it: there is some crazing and the back shows how it was hand made. Condition otherwise is good, no cracks or chips.

Measurements are: 9 1/4" diameter and 1 1/4" high.
