Description

Stunning Flapper era Evening cocktail gown, fashioned in France, circa 1920's.  Yards of black lace, fully lined in heavy crepe de chine type fabric.  Bodice lined with ecru lighter weight crepe, covered with Point de Venice lace panel.  V neckline accented with black glass tube bead dangles attached to diamond weave bead border.  This same design covers the angular drop waist of the dress, highlighted by a large black bead medallion.  All beads handsewn together and onto dress.

Unique haute couture fashion.  Much tiny hand sewing.  Integrated scarf at the back neckline, longer on one side.  Lace is drawn up in layers at the hip, falling softly to the long hemline. Please view all pictures BELOW  for more detail.

Beautifully preserved, wearable.  Dress pulls over head, opening as side with snap closures.  Measurements as follows:   ~15" across shoulders  ~Neck opening 22" total  ~Bust 36" measured around under arms    ~Just above drop waist, hips measure 36"  ~49" in length back neck to hem.  We find no holes or rips, only a few minor pulls to the lace.  Remarkable for the age - approximately 90 years old.  Perfect for Downton Abbey or Great Gatsby dress up.  Costume for Theater, Film, Photo Shoot.

Coming from a large old home where one family's treasures have been carefully collected for over a century.  This wonderful dress was found in a trunk belonging to an ancestor who resided in France lifelong.  Please view our listings for more from this fine estate.  We combine shipments.
