ART NOUVEAU TILE. MOULDED MAJOLICA. GOERGE MARSDEN. C1906.

SIZE 6" x 6" OR 152MM X 152MM.

Very pleased to offer for sale this rarely seen Art Nouveau tile by George Marsden especially in this unusual colour combination which i had never come across until finding these beautiful examples. I have seen the same colour purple used in one of there tubelined Art Nouveau designs.

Always a joy to find a new design.

This design is documented in many books but never seen one in real life so was very pleased to of found this small group.

They do come in many colourways.

This design has two shades of green with purple flowers and turquoise segments on the flower heads.

These are truly little works of art made by one of the top tile manufacturers known for great designs and fabulous translucent glazes.

Condition is very good one tiny chip near top left corner and a minute nibble on the same edge and a couple of minute nibbles on the top right edge a tiny amount of surface wear.

Has a stained back from when once used in a victorian fireplace.

REGISTERED is embossed in the centre.
