1 x Red Velvet and Lace Door Curtain

Red vintage velvet looks lush doesn't it?...plus black lace too! This is a completely unique door dressing, repaired and then hand-embellished by me!

I'm positive this single red velvet curtain is cotton velvet but there is no label to confirm it, just my experience of working with fabrics for the last year and a half.

It gathers, pleats, drapes and hangs nicely and, as with vintage velvets looks lush gathered up and held back to one side with a fancy tassel.

It arrived with me cut in half as if someone was going to make a pair - the stitching was poor and the project was unfinished. I have put them back together to restore the long curtain, which wasn't easy! I then had to realign the header tape and ensure the drop was even after the repair. Then I added three strips of lace, all painstakingly handsewn by me to cover the join and towards the hem. I've been wanting to combine lace and velvet for a long time and hadn't got around to it - this project was a super opportunity to try something new.  I think this works a treat and will be making a few more like this now.

The curtain is fully lined and has been laundered on a hand wash cycle, then steamed prior to photographing.

Header Type: The header tape is a pencil pleat. It is in decent condition and fully operational but the cords have been gathered and cut a little short.

Fabric Measurements (unpleated): The curtain is 104cm width and 205cm drop or the online converter states this is 41inches x 81 inches. There is a 7.5cm hem if you are thinking of lengthening.

Modifications or Repairs: I did the work outlined above.

Flaws: On inspection, to the front, towards one edge there is a very narrow area of light fading right at the edge. This continues down most of the full length of the curtain side.

The lining is joined horizontally.

Priced according to condition - please see photos.
