WELCOME TO MY LISTING OF THIS,
MID-CENTURY QUEEN ELIZABETH II ROYAL ESTATE MAPS, PLANS, ARCHITECTS CHEST OF 4 LARGE DRAWERS,FULLY STAMPED FOR ONE OF THE QUEENS ESTATES ALONG WITH THE SMALL IMPRESSED CROWN MARK TO THE CARCUS.
(We think it could possibly be from the Highgrove Estate as underneath the impressed stamp of the crown there is the letter "H" with something else alongside it).
These pieces are extremely popular as kitchen islands as they have a large storage and surface area,also whilst the legs are not original to the piece,they do give it a look and were obviously added to give it some extra height by the previous users.
The legs could be removed / unscrewed for transportation purposes if needed.
This lovely untouched piece of furniture measures 103 cm tall by 94 cm deep and 130 cm in length and would have held,Maps,Plans or Engineers / Architects Drawings for one of Queen Elizabeth's Royal estates etc.
This wonderful set of drawers has picked up some wear and tear during its long history,but nothing less than you should reasonably expect to see for a piece of this age and type given its intended use i.e, scratches scuffs etc and only adds to its character and charm.
We have not personally cleaned or waxed the piece and it is something we leave to the new owners to do as finishes vary dependant on peoples tastes,but a coat of clear wax would look wonderful and retain all the character on this set of drawers.
