This booklet is about the area around the lake Chiemsee in Southern Bavaria, and the Herrenchiemsee Palace or Castle  on its largest island. Construction  was started on the ornate building in 1878 by King Ludwig II of Bavaria, who died before its completion. This  softcover 88 page, 6 by 8  3/4 inch booklet has a detailed description and history of the area and castle  and a number of black and white photos, a lovely color plate showing the island and castle and a floor plan. The earliest edition I found of this book was in German and published in 1903. This copy not dated, but the ad on the last page Strand Hotel und Kurhaus Chiemsee states that  the hotel was rebuilt in 1921/22, so I'm guessing it's from sometime in the 20's. it's in good condition with lightly toned pages.
