Christmas fairy lights have changed a great deal in recent times, gone are the days of energy inefficient bulbs that cost the earth to run. Not all LED lights are the same and these have been specially manufactured to be extra bright with very impressive light output. With 300 lights on the string the results are a sight to see and these are mains operated to ensure you get great light output. Forget solar powered lights with their dim output that vary from day to day depending on how much sunshine there has been. You could purchase low powered battery lights, but again batteries need replacing regularly and the lights will be nowhere near as bright.

Primarily these lights are intended for indoor use however they do also offer IP44 water resistance. In plain english this means they are shower/splash proof but should not be left out in the open for extended periods exposed to rain/snow/fog etc. The 3-pin plug should always be protected from any moisture indoors or outdoors. Examples of extended outdoor use would be under an awning, gazebo or shelter protected from the elements. Temporary outdoor use is perfectly okay for a party or gathering subject to weather conditions.

While most people will use these at Christmas, they can of course can be used all year round. The lights are designed to be used in a wide range of situations. 300 lights is enough to decorate a tree up to 8ft depending on how dense you want the light effect to be. Mixing more than 1 set of course will give a more impressive effect. They can be draped around hedges, decking, placed in jars or vases, around windows - you are only limited by your imagination.
