*I acquired this at the West Hollywood  estate sale of veteran actor Michael Forest. He was married to actress Diana Hale. They were both born in 1929 and she died in 2022. She appeared in 2 films - IT'S ALIVE and PLANET OF THE APES, and more than 20 episodes of THE DAYS OF OUR LIVES, STAR TREK, THE ROCKFORD FILES, TRAPPER JOHN, M.D., and other popular series.

Mark Kostabi was born in L.A. in 1960 to  parents who were Estonian immigrants. He grew up in Whittier and studied drawing and painting at Cal State University - Fullerton. After graduating in 1982, he moved to Manhattan. By 1984 he was a prominent  member of the East Village Art Scene. His style is rooted in the style of 2 elite European artists - Italy's Giorgio de Chirico and Spain's Fernand Leger. His typically bold, semi-Cubist images feature faceless figures in often ancient settings whose situations comment on aspects of contemporary politics and values. It's a quality book and flat-out rare.

There are no other copies on eBay and none on any of the myriad of Google linked book sites. Google has many articles about the artist and this exhibition, plus Kostabli has a substantial Wikipedia entry.

The Buy-It-Now price of $16.99 includes shipping with stiff cardboard backing via media mail, which takes around 7 days with tracking.
