1813/1814 Austrian Napoleonic War Medal

Austrian Empire: Army Cross 1813-1814 also 
known as "Cannon Cross" because it was 
made from captured French cannons.
Obverse: "GRATI PRINCEPS ET PATRIA 
FRANC. IMP. AUG" (A Grateful Prince and 
Country. Franz. Emperor)
Reverse: "EUROPAE LIBERTATE ASSERTA" 
(Europe’s Liberty Asserted) and dated 
"MDCCCXIII-MDCCCXIV" (1813-1814)
Scarce issued example. The medal was instituted by Kaizer Franz II in 
1814 and was awarded in 1815 to the Austrian 
soldiers who had participated in the 1813 and 
1814 Campaigns of the Napoleonic Wars.
