Miles High 2m Glider - Fuselage pod & V tail parts set

This fuselage is designed by Steve Haley and aimed at the F3-RES /F5L-RES competition/sport pilots. Although designed around the Miles wing, the brief was to design a ‘cost effective’ universal fuselage pod & tail unit to fit all 2m glider wings. To minimise postage/stock holding costs, you will need to provide your own carbon boom and details can be found below. There is no requirement for a plan to construct this fuselage as we provide full building guidelines. This is one of the few part kits where we do provide the original Miles building plan if using our wing rib set which can be ordered separately.

Design criteria:

• Cost effective universal fuselage pod & tail unit to fit all 2m glider wings
• Complies with F3-RES /F5L-RES competition rules.
• Improved drag reduction utilising V-Tail
• Greatly reduced weight (200g lighter than original Miles Fuselage)
• Designed to take a standard 28mm brushless out runner motor (200-300w) using 500amp 3s Lipo
• Servo tray designed around micro 18.6 x 7 x 16.7 mm servos (I use MKS HV70 Servo Micro wing servo from https://www.t9hobbysport.com/)
• Longer moment arm to improve V-Tail pitch stability
• Both Cross tail and v-tail versions are now available 

What's in the box:

• A total of 83 laser cut parts
• 2 x fuselage sides cut in 3 mm liteply
• 9 x Fuselage top & bottom cross grain 3mm balsa 
• 9 fuselage formers cut in 3 mm liteply 
• (34 & 35 mm diameter motor bulk heads provided to give more spinner options)
• (2 versions provide for boom support formers)
• 2 part servo tray cut in 3 mm liteply
• 3 x wing retaining plats cut in 3 mm liteply
• 2 x canopy support bars
• Triangular balsa strip
• 12 x balsa formers to produce conical pod boom interface
• Fuselage frame provided to ensure everything is bonded square!
• V-Tail plane cut in 4.75 mm balsa
• Tail plane joiners - 3mm carbon tube and 2mm rod 
• Tail plane joiner drill jig (for drill the joiners holes in the boom accurately)
• Tail plane control horns cut from 1.5 mm premium laser ply
• Building guidelines included (digital)

What you will need in addition to complete the Fuselage/tail:

• Wing parts are not included in this offer. see other listing for Miles wing rib set.
• Carbon boom - finished length 770 long
• Carbon Tube direct from www.freeflightsupplies.co.uk (F1A - 17.5 mm to 10.2 mm x 950 mm - 22 gm - £20.00 plus post)
• Control push rod set - I use 0.74mm 22SWG Stainless Steel Wire (1.5 m)
• Wing retaining nut & bolts to suit your wing design
• Covering material
• Miles plan for wing construction is available if required (£10.0)
