neck laminated sapele/wenge/curly hard maple blank, about 29 long, 2.45 wide, and 3.9 tall at heel(2.5 inches tall except the heel). Some grain tearout due to figure.

This is a lamination of figured sapele for the outer skins, about 0.98 thick each, a tight fiddleback hard maple core, about 0.35 thick and 2 African wenge slices, about 1/8 inch each, not quite 2.5 inches of total width

A couple figure related checks on one end see last 2 photos, because of the amount of stock that removed in neck carving I would think these would be likely to disappear after carving( in any event the curved shape of these would greatly facilitate hiding).

While it is true that you could resaw the 2.5 inches of height into two similar blanks 29 inches long and 1 inch thick by 2.5 wide for 2 scarf joint type necks, a much more  pleasing(to me) result is obtained by sawing the pattern more or less oriented as shown, then adding the extra width for the headstock from the off-fall. This yields only one neck, but when the headstock is veneered top and bottom(backstrap), the resulting neck has no joint lines from a stacked heel or scarf joint.

Please study the pictures carefully and I think you will see this laminated blank very likely to yield an excellent neck

In the video(and some photos), you can see the my split neck template I use for neck layout. This is not included just shown to illustrate that this blank is generously sized.
