This is a Lady's Lorgnette or folding spectacles that date to the Victorian-era.  They fold-up and lock together with a little spring catch and button release.  The Frame and Chain are sterling silver as stamped on the catches of the chain.  On the underside of the bridge stamped the maker's marked T&P along with 12k 1/10.  The frames are fully engraved. The nose pads look to be smooth bone or similar material.  The Neck Chain is very fine with tiny wire fillagree segments. The glass lenses do have a magnification and no scratches.  When locked together they fit in the original leather pouch with snap closure.  In goldleaf is stamped: DR. I. NEWMAN OPTOMETRIST 168-11 JAMAICA AVE. JAMAICA, N.Y.  An excellent example and must have belonged to a pretty affluent lady.  Guaranteed to please the new owner or I'll buy it back. Check my Feedback.
