Vintage 1940s-1950s Hellerkunst German Wall Hangings Figures Musical Gnomes

Four handmade in Germany large wooden wall figures, each with the Hellerkunst name and tree mark on the back. Two (x2) figures are gnomes playing instruments; two (x2) figures are Dwarves with woodland / forest animals. Made in the 1940s or early 1950s.

Santas/Gnomes/ Elves are dressed in blue. One has a squirrel on his shoulder; one is petting a young deer with spots (title: Loving Dwarf with Fawn). The two elves are both dressed in red with hoods. One is playing a fiddle or violin, one is playing a mandolin or banjo. No major cracks or breaks except for paint chips and worn paint. The Dwarf with the squirrel has some wood chipping on the back. The two red gnomes both have their original leather hangers, while the two blue elves have tape used as a hanger. These still look great on display!

Per the Online Museum of German Wall Art, the manufacturer was founded in 1927 by Magda and George Heller. Many of these wall arts were brought home by soldiers after the second world war.
