With the DisplayPort cable, your docking station is immediately ready for use on the desired monitor. Up to 4 “lanes” are available for data transfer. 1, 2 or all 4 lanes can be used for data transmission, for example to ensure a higher resolution. The Display Port is also able to transmit audio data in addition to image data and also has an AUX channel. The supported bidirectional auxiliary channel can be used, for example, for a USB connection or to control touch-sensitive screens. DisplayPort 1.2 has a maximum transfer rate of 21.6Gbit/s (5.4Gbit/s per lane) with a cable length of 3m.
Two screens can be connected via the DisplayPort 1.2 interface, each with a resolution of 2560x1600 pixels, or even four screens with a resolution of 1920x1200 pixels - at a refresh rate of 60Hz. With only one screen connected, an image with a resolution of 3840x2400 pixels (60Hz) can be displayed.
