Andy Warhol Rare Original c.1956 Male Portrait Line Drawing

This original drawing created by Andy Warhol around 1956 comes directly from the artist’s estate. In the 1950s, well before his rise to Pop art fame, Warhol created and exhibited drawings of men in pursuit of his career as a fine artist in New York City. The wistful upward gaze of the sitter in this portrait shows Warhol's interest in love, sex and desire. This is a unique opportunity to purchase a drawing from Warhol’s personal collection.

Proceeds directly benefit the non-profit charitable organization he founded with the mission to advance the visual arts. Since its inception in 1987, The Andy Warhol Foundation has been a stalwart advocate for freedom of expression, supporting work that is experimental and challenging in nature and from communities that have been historically marginalized.
