The bracelet is formed by natural pearls, Job's tears. It is made with natural cotton thread with wax.
The realization of the bracelet takes place totally by hand: Job's tears (the pearls of the bracelet) are born natural from the plant (latin name; coix lacryma-jobi) and once they reach the ripening they are meticulously collected and cleaned one by one.
This seed comes from a perennial grass from the rush family. It is gray or white with bluish-gray reflections.
In Central America, small necklaces or bracelets are made for children who suffer from toothache and to relieve teething in babies. In France, some parents ask pharmacists to sell them bracelets for this use.
The Amazonian Indians believe it brings luck and wards off evil spirits.
In Africa, placed under the pillow, these seeds are said to promote sleep in children and adults. In the West Indies, a decoction of crushed seeds is used in cases of measles, due to the diuretic properties attributed to the plant and the tradition which attributes virtues to certain seeds against these blistering conditions and back pain.
