1:50 scale showman's Bella Vista style 16 gondola Ferris wheel MDF kit

This is an MDF laser cut kit of a 16 gondola Ferris wheel, it is based on the trailer mounted

Bella vista wheel (See last photo)

The kit has MDF laser cut boards and has a 28 page manual for construction, there are some tips to wiring and motorising

This would be a great addition to any layout, this 1:50 scale model stands at 470mm high

The real bella vista ride is 22.5 meters high approx. 

This kit has quite a lot of pieces, some are small and some are a bit delicate but overall not to hard to build

You can customise this to be your own by adding colour and your own decals.

While it is not a really difficult kit to build some parts can be a little fiddly due to size

The gondola gate sections can be cut and removed once built if you want to add your own wire or etched ones.

There are some basic suggestions in the supplied instructions about lighting the gondolas and  motorising.

It shouldn't be too difficult to motorise, I do include some motor type and speed suggestions.

 

The last photo is the real Bella Vista Wheel which this model is based on

you will receive the MDF kit, a 50mm long M3 nut and bolt,

a plastic spacer and a small piece of PTFE tube, this is cut to fit in the legs to act as skids for the wheel.

This can be built as a very attractive static model with lighting or a motorised model depending on your requirements

you will need to supply 1mm piano wire for gondola pivots if no lighting is used (16 pieces at 35mm each)

If planning to use it motorised with lighting You will need to supply 

1mm brass rod, 2mm brass tube and wire to make contacts, again some tips for this are supplied

The M3 bolt is used for holding the centre together during construction, you can use this as a centre pivot 

but you are better if you get some 3mm smooth bar or 3mm brass tube for this.

Some sizes as a guide are

The overall trailer size is, Lower deck Height is 20 mm with swan neck  height at 32mm

The trailer including swan neck is W 52mm x L 320mm

The outer ring of the wheel is 370mm diameter approx.

The width of the trailer stabilisers from pad edge to pad edge is 150mm

The Gondola roofs are 42mm x 25mm
