An Attractive English 19th Century Mahogany Lap Desk, the exterior with good quality Brass Corners and Bands, with a blank shaped Brass plaque on the top and matching escutcheon on the front.
The Desk opens up to reveal a Leather inset Black writing surface with intricate gilt tooling above compartments for papers etc.
To the front of the Interior there is a removable Pen Tray and a Stamp slope and two spaces which would have held Inkwells on either side.
Below the front writing surface there is a sprung Panel which when opened reveals two Secret Drawers with Bone Finials.
( This is sprung by lifting one of the Dividers above.).
