【Ikyu Japan Avenue Original】 Japanese Natural Whetstone Tomo-Nagura  #800/#4000/#6000/#8000/#10000 from Japan **Free Shipping**

Let's use a Natural Nagura for your natural whetstone

As well known, the abrasive grains of synthetic whetstone and natural whetstone are completely different, and they are compatible with each other.
It is appropriate to use a synthetic Nagura for synthetic whetstone, and to use a natural Nagura for natural whetstone.
Mikawa and Tsushima are famous as natural Nagura, but in addition to these, there are many natural whetstones that can be used as Tomo-Nagura. This page introduces some of them.

< Usage >

To Create the Slurry

Clogging Prevention of the Stone.

Flattening  uneven(not flat) surface of the Stone.

For kitchen knives, chef's knives, razors, woodworking tools, and general cutlery, etc

1. These Nagura Stones & Whetstones should be kept wet throughout the sharpening process by sprinkling with water, which acts as a lubricant on the stone.

2. After setting Whetstone in  unmoved condition, rub the whetstone with Nagura stone equally(moving forward and backward) and slurry will appear soon, but do not wash or wipe off this slurry then start sharpening.

3. Sharpen your knife as usual. ( The effect changes remarkably in combination with the whetstone used.)

These Naguras are shipped with Japanese-style wrapping, as shown in the photo.
