For tying and pinning masonry to brick, block, concrete and timber. Ideal for cavity wall replacement.
Benefits
- Quick & Easy to install- no resins or tensioning of neoprene ties
- A stress free, simple fixing
Self taps direct into a small pilot hole drilled into substrate
Unaffected by temperature or weather conditions
Helical design in 304 grade stainless steel- ensures a continuous drip
Accommodates normal building movement
- Comprehensively tested and proven
Kit Option
Our kits are sold with a Tungsten-carbide tipped SDS masonry drill bit and a fixing / setting tool.
SDS Drill Bits (for forming the pilot hole) -
We sell 6mm diameter as standard with the kit, however can supply other diameters on request (please refer to our Shop)
Fixing / Setting Tools for driving the ties into pilot holes (using an SDS rotary hammer drill) and recessing them below the brick surface. Insert the tie into the SDS rod-driver and drive into wall as far as it will go. When the drill is removed, tie will be projecting approx 10mm from the face of brickwork. Insert the recessing tool into the rod driver, then drive the tie so that it is recessed into the wall.
How to Install
1). Drill the pilot holes through both leaves to the required depth and diameter. Drill the holes 10mm longer than the tie and to achieve a minimum 70mm embedment in the inner leaf.
2). Insert a fixing / setting tool into an SDS rotary hammer drill. Insert the tie into the fixing / setting tool.
3). Drive the tie into the internal leaf to the required depth, ensuring the tie is fully recessed to the external leaf below the face of the masonry (use recessing tool supplied with kit).
What Length of Tie?
Tie Length | Min Cavity Size | Max Cavity Size |
170mm | 0mm | 5mm |
195mm | 5mm | 25mm |
220mm | 30mm | 50mm |
245mm | 55mm | 75mm |
270mm | 80mm | 100mm |
300mm | 105mm | 130mm |
320mm | 130mm | 150mm |
345mm | 155mm | 175mm |
370mm | 180mm | 200mm |
400mm | 205mm | 230mm |
425mm | 235mm | 255mm |
450mm | 260mm | 280mm |
Ties must have a minimum embedment in the inner (load bearing) leaf of 70mm
Pilot holes will be between 5.5mm and 6.5mm.
We recommend that you test the strength of substrate before choosing the appropriate drill hole
Above table assumes that facing brickwork is 110mm wide imperial brickwork (make adjustment for small widths / 100mm metric bricks)
