Information from the manufacturer on their HO Scale Nickel Silver Plated Brass Insulated Wheelsets:
  • HO Scale Nickel Silver Plated Brass Insulated Wheelsets
  • These wheels follow NMRA RP-25 Standards.
  • One wheel is insulated from the all-metal axle.
  • The entire wheelset is non-magnetic.
  • The axle length is 1.006" (+- .004")
Wheel diameter can be measured with a caliper:
  • 28" wheels measure (28/87.1=.321") in HO scale.
  • 33" wheels measure (33/87.1=.378") in HO scale.
  • 36" wheels measure (36/87.1=.413") in HO scale.
  • 38" wheels measure (38/87.1=.436") in HO scale.
(87.1 = HO scale to prototype ratio. HO scale is 87.1 times smaller than the prototype).
  • 28" wheels are used on modern Tri-Level Autoracks, some Bi-Level Autoracks, and some older intermodal cars such as Impack spine cars, front runners & four runners - check your prototype.
  • 33" wheels are used on 50 & 70 ton capacity cars (CAPY approximately 150,000 LBS or less).
  • 36" wheels are used on 100 ton capacity cars (CAPY approximately 200,000 LBS), and on all passenger cars no matter the era.
  • 38" wheels are used on 150 ton capacity cars, primarily the center connection trucks on modern intermodal cars with 33" wheels at the coupler ends.
  • Cabooses can use either 33" or 36" wheels depending on the prototype.
The CAPY information is typically printed on model freight cars and can be used as a guide. Some cars have the wheel size printed on the sides or ends of the car in the data. If you are ever unsure of which size to use, you can simply replace the wheels currently on the car with the same size.
  • Wheelset finish has been improved to have a dull blackened appearance to be more realistic without the immediate need for weathering. It also provides a nice base starting point for weathering if desired.

USA Shipping:

  • We ship using USPS First Class, Parcel Post, Priority Mail, and occasionally FedEX.
  • We may upgrade your shipping method at our discretion.
  • Tracking is provided. Orders over $750 will require a signature per Paypal rules.

International Shipping, Customs Fees, Import Taxes and Duty:

  • We ship USPS First Class International and Priority Mail. It's your choice!
  • There is limited or no tracking on FCI or Flat Rate Priority Shipping.
  • Allow two to ten weeks when choosing First Class International, but it's usually far less.
  • Please Note:  Import duties, taxes, and charges are not included in the item price or shipping cost. 
  • These charges are the buyer's responsibility.
  • Please check with your country's customs office to determine what these 
  •       additional costs will be prior to bidding or buying.
  • Don't ask us to falsify a customs form...We will not do it.

Insurance:

  • We insure all International shipments and some domestic shipments.
  • Our insurance carrier requires a 20 day domestic (USA) and 40 day International waiting period before we file a claim.
  • You agree to wait the required time and agree to complete a online affidavit for the insurance company if we file a claim for your lost or damaged shipment. Shipsaver is our carrier and they provide excellent service. 

Handling and Shipping time:

  • All orders ship same or the next day. In the event of an issue, we will message you via eBay message system.

Sales Tax:

  • New York Residents will be charged Sales Tax - It's the law.

Returns:

  • No returns are accepted on opened items.
  • All items we sell are covered by Manufacturer Warranty. 
  • Do not open a return case for defective items, Contact us FIRST, we'll work it out.
  • A restocking charge of 15-20% may apply. 
  • We do not refund original shipping charges.
