1 x Dark Brown Vintage Velvet Curtain

This vintage velvet door curtain is dark brown. I believe it to be cotton velvet - there is no label, however.

It is in original condition as you can see by the photos  - I haven't attempted to modify or repair it.

The fabric is soft and supple and it has a nice pile - it drapes, pleats and hangs nicely.

As with all velvet the surface does change colour when the light catches the fabric, flicking darker/lighter. If you need an exact shade, I can provide a colour match service - see below. 

Velvet always looks lush drawn back with a fancy tie back. If you need one, I do sell some - handmade or also preloved in my shop.

This curtain does have a lining. If you require further warmth, I'd suggest making or purchasing a removable one that simply looks onto the existing header tape with normal curtain hooks. You can get blackout, thermal, fleece etc... I do sell some when available in my shop.

Header Type: The header tape is a vintage ruffle tape with intact cords. It is discoloured but fully functional and positioned at a  shorter width than the full fabric width, leaving an approximate 5cm gap at both ends.

Fabric Measurements (unpleated): The curtain is 112cm width and 184cm drop or the online converter states this is 44inches x 72 inches drop. There is barely any hem, with a tape (two different colours) added to the back at the bottom if you are thinking of lengthening - see pictures. 

Modifications or Repairs: None noted, nor carried out.

Flaws: On inspection, to the front here is an obvious stripe of light fading to the edge and some very faint light fading a little further in.

I found two marks right at the light faded edge.

To the back, the lining is damaged with stains/marks and light fading, but it is completely functional so didn't see the point in replacing it - it can easily be covered up if needed with a removable lining which would give an extra layer of warmth in cold months. the lining edge needs a few stitches to secure.

The header tape and the hem have been altered at some point - there are old stitching lines to the fabric.

Terms of Sale:

• All curtains are preloved. Many are vintage so there may be small or superficial marks from previous use which might be noticed on unpacking, but when hung, these are not usually noticeable. Fabric is checked and any significant snags, discolouration or other imperfections are photographed/described.
• All curtains are cleaned using gentle cleaning methods - steam treatment/machine hand wash plus fabric conditioner prior to listing unless otherwise stated. I also will treat stains in a variety of different ways. Your curtain/s may benefit from more intensive treatment but warn against following old label instructions - some material deteriorates over time and you can cause rips, tears and holes by using out of date washing advice (I have done this myself!). 
• I attempt to represent the colour fairly, but light at the time of taking photographs alters colours and the shade/hue might differ on your screen to mine so please do not expect an exact match, this is impossible. I am happy to photograph your sample of wallpaper/paint/fabric on the curtain/s if you wish to help you decide if the item will work for your project and do not charge for this service. Simply contact me for an address. I can also photograph a RAL international Standard Classic Fan on the material to assist, again, do let me know if you require this and I'll message you directly with this image.
• Width measurements are taken with the material unpleated and laid flat. A metal measuring tape is then applied just above the hem. An online converter is used to change to inches so please be aware that this is not 100% accurate. Pinch pleat curtains have a fixed width so in this case I take additional measurements at the top. 
• Please ensure that you have enough fabric to dress your door/window/alcove. There are guides online to help you calculate this. I don't accept returns if your curtains do not fit.
• Auction listed items are not ended early unless absolutely necessary. 
• Tassels are for photography purposes only but I do sell tie backs and tassels in my shop.

Shipping:

• Recycled packaging is used.
• Items are dispatched within 2 days of auction end. Faster shipping may be possible, please message and I will do my best.
• Items will be sent by courier, fully insured.
• If you live in the UK but off the mainland, (including Channel and Scottish Isles), please contact  before bidding for accurate shipping costs as these are sometimes more than standard courier rates. I will do my best to get a reasonable quote.
• I will ship internationally but only using the Ebay Global Platform. Any other method can involve completion of extensive customs forms and result in customs tax being charged.
• You are welcome to collect at a convenient time for both of us. 
• I don't mind hand delivering if you are local to me.

Returns:

Simply contact me within 14 days of receipt explaining why you want to return your item along with photographs of the identified discrepancy. Agreed returns must be returned in the same condition including all packaging, ribbon and cards by you, within 30 days. If I have made an error then I will pay for the return postage. If however, I do decide to accept a return for another reason, you remain responsible for paying for return postage costs.
