This is a set of four Carl Hansen & Søn CH23 Chairs, designed by Hans J. Wegner in 1950. This set dates to the 1960s. The design features a solid oiled-oak frame, and has a woven paper cord seat. The oak has darkened and patinated significantly where the color now looks more brown or teak-like. The seats were rewoven, but not re-woven with the typical double-weave pattern. One seat appears considerably older than the others. These pieces are guaranteed as original Carl Hansen examples.

Each chair measures 19.8 inches deep, 19.8 inches wide, and 30.9 inches high. The seat height is 17.5 inches. The frames have patinated beautifully, amplifying the inherent grain of the wood. There are some scratches and signs of wear to the frames. The paper cord seats look great, though there is some wear present on the seats also. Overall, these pieces are in very good vintage condition with light wear apparent. Please see photos.
