This is a “Tentazione” two-seater sofa, model 685, originally designed by Mario Bellini for Cassina in 1973. Its frame is made of steel, and the seat and back are formed from pliant molded-polyurethane. The piece is currently upholstered in a triangular-patterned fabric. This design was succeeded by Bellini’s 'Bambole’ sofa, only the lines on this silhouette are a bit more tailored. This particular example came from a grand estate in Center City Philadelphia, near Rittenhouse Square and was accompanied by numerous other important works from the 1970s and 1980s. This example appears to date to the 1980s.

The sofa measures 40 inches deep, 65 inches wide, and 29.5 inches high. Its seat height is 15.75 inches. There is staining on the bottom of the sofa, as well as on the arms. Reupholstery is recommended, though it could be used as/is. Overall, this sofa is in good condition with some wear apparent. Please see photos.
