Articulated Artist Lay Figures.

As pictured. Very unique, especially the male figure, which features extremely fine, naturalistic details, indicative of a master carver. The condition for each is excellent, with the male figure showing slightly more natural wear and very few surface scratches, all indicative of a well-cared for set of artists mannequins.

If you know what these are then you know what these are. Maquettes of this size do not show up often and when they do, they are frequently damaged or missing parts. I’ve done extensive research and only found one other example similar to the male figure. This is a rare and unique set in great condition for their age and you are never going to see a couple like this again.

In a retail setting, these figures would be priced near $10,000 per mannequin. Offering a discount to keep the pair together before moving ahead and auctioning separately.
