This is a carved oak box, made for organizing business cards. Bought at an antique shop in Edinburgh in 1955. Looking at the hardware, and the tiny nails on the bottom, I'm dating it at around 1920.

It has a logo on the inside of the lid. The logo incorporates rope, and it had a few business cards in it; very old ones, relating to marine supply--for ship chandlers, carpentry services etc. The logo is LCC or ICC; I thought the box may have had something to do with the Italian Cable Company, but it wasn't founded until the '60s and this box is much older than that.

It is hand-made, hand-carved, and very nicely done, with expert craftsmanship.
All original hardware.
The interior organizing pieces come out and can be moved around.

4 3/4" wide, 3" high and 3" deep.

There are little bits of wear here and there; overall, superb condition.
