The Memories of Yesterday collection from Enesco was introduced in 1988. It is a collection of porcelain bisque figurines based on the illustrations of the British artist Mabel Lucie Attwell (1879-1964). Mabel Lucie Attwell's charming depictions of chubby children in everyday situations have a timeless appeal and their translation into Memories of Yesterday figurines retains that nostalgic and heartwarming feel.  To more accurately capture the essence of the original illustrations and the time period they represent, Memories of Yesterday figurines are coated in a wash to give them a softer and more antique look. Along with the attention to detail and carefully selected color palette, the resulting figurines are beautifully authentic recreations of Attwell's original artwork.  As with many other Enesco brands, a unique annual production mark was stamped on the bottom of the figurines to indicate the year in which they were produced. Annual production mark symbols were also inspired by Mabel Lucie Attwell and include a teacup, flower and teardrop.  This collection was permanently retired on Dec 31, 1999. (SEE IMAGES).  Original boxes are not included, however, they will be well packaged for mailing.  Shipping is $8 within the U.S. only.  See my other auctions (including other Memories of Yesterday figurines.) that can be combined to reduce postage costs.
