If you notice in the pics the one screw hole on the guitar showing, it is because this was put on a 61 reissue sg for the pictures. This will fit fine a standard sg because it was made for the standard with the large pickguard.

This will also work on a SG special without a guard but you would have to drill holes to mount it.
SINCE THE PICKGUARD IS CAST IN SOLID METAL, IT WILL ADD SOME WEIGHT TO YOUR GUITAR. IT'S WEIGHT IS ABOUT 1 pound 1 OZ. So if your SG has a heavy neck and you get neck dive, this will help to counterweight your heavy neck.
The pickguard is cast in solid white metal. It has been clear coated to keep it's shine over time and comes with black oxide screws like you see in the pictures.
