NORMAN HYDE was a Development Engineer in Triumph Motorcycle's Experimental Department from 1968 to 1975. He was a key member of a close-knit team working under Chief Development Engineer Doug Hele on projects to improve production machines and win races to promote them.

Racing successes included winning nine Isle of Man TT races, three Daytona 200s, two Bol d'Or and Thruxton 500 endurance events, and Britain's first Superbike Championship in 1971.

To keep track of the many drawings and one-off parts emanating from the Department, Hyde initiated a numbering system, with each item recorded in a book.

The priceless old ledger has survived and it's secrets are revealed in this fascinating book along with many first-hand recollections and comments.
