Many of the recordings used to complete this reference edition are early and "historical" - often coming form private collections. Digital re-mastering has been used to improve and re-construct the original tapes for modern playing equipment. However it was sometimes deemed preferable to leave minor imperfections where excessive intervention in the studio would have sacrificed the natural warmth and obvious authenticity of the original performances. Made in Italy.
